Recently I had a client that was struggling to remember the passwords she had.. various email accounts, skype and wireless network and things like that so I helped her to set them all to something she would remember. Here is my quick tips for choosing a secure password;
- Make the Password 8 characters or more (many things require at least 8 numbers or letters)
- Use a combination of letters and numbers
(usually a word with some numbers before or after it, or for even better security swap characters in the middle of the word for their number look-alike – instead of an “i” use 1 and instead of an “e” use 3 – this helps make it easier to remember) - Use a combination of UPPERCASE and lowercase.
- Don’t use any of these most common passwords below;
