Yesterday we finished fixing a problem where a Microsoft Entourage Email Database had become corrupted and caused a loss of email information for the majority of 2013. We also noticed this happening at the client’s site on the new Outlook on Mac.
In general it is good to be careful about the size of your email file and as on Entourage and Outook for the mac it is all stored in one file – when it gets above 2gb it becomes alot more likely to become corrupt from a small error.
In this situation we used an Entourage recovery tool from a company called “Stellar” which helped the process. The file was 17gb so it took a few days to finally fix the email computer problem, but it was done in the end.
A big part of the process involved setting up a new Entourage Identity and then exporting and importing the emails over using a custom category for the missing emails.
