A few weeks ago I went to a Microsoft conference where they demonstrated Windows Vista – the new operating system for your Computer that will replace Windows XP. It is due to be released to the general market early 2007 and has already been packaged up and sent to be manufactured.
Recently an Australian company was fined a cool $5.5mil for sending out spam emails, I dont know where they are going to come up with that kind of cash.. I didn’t think spamming was that profitable.
“An Australian company and its director have been fined a total of AU $5.5 million (US $4.1 million) after it was claimed they sent over 200 million spam emails in a 12 month period.”
“This is the first time that spammers have been successfully prosecuted under the Australian Spam Act, and represents a victory for the authorities and the man in the street pestered by nuisance email,” said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for security company Sophos.
