Anti-Phishing Feature of IE7 for Windows

A client was having problems downloading specific files and logging into banking websites through internet explorer… Heres the solution..

The message was related to a Phishing Filter. The Phishing Filter is a new feature within new Internet Explorer 7 to stop adware, spyware and viruses getting through.

If the phishing filter is blocking your internet access, the way to disable it is as follows;
Go to the Tools menu, select Phishing Filter, and then click Phishing Filter Settings. In the dialog box that appears, under Phishing Filter, select Disable Phishing Filter.

Security Features that become Blockages

In recent times certain security ‘features’ can become blockages. For example in Norton  and Trend Internet Security, if you are running a wireless network – one of the firewall ‘features’ will often block your internet connection until you either disable it, or reconfigure it to allow internet traffic through.

This is an example of one of our Perth Computer Repairs – if you would like a technician to come visit you on-site to help with your computer problems, Please contact us.
